This class is the second day of our getting started classes and should be taken after The Basics if you are planning to fire your own glass or if you just want a deeper knowledge of how your glass is being fired at the studio.

You will learn the science behind the melting of glass in a kiln and the structure and properties of glass that are important to understand for successful fusing of different glasses together.  Firing schedules and all the different variables that affect the success of your firing experience are covered.  You will also learn how to program your controller, prepare your kiln shelves, and maintain your kiln.  This class includes many lessons learned from thousands of hours of firing experience.
